As August rolls in, the official summer season begins winding to an end. And you know what that should tell you? You have no excuse to not be heading out to as many auto events as you possibly can. Lucky for you, we’ve done the hard work of rounding up some must-see attractions all over the U.S. We’re talking Roadkill Nights, 14 Hours of Sebring, Mecum Monterey Auctions, Jeep Jamboree, and even an event we have no idea how to pronounce!
56th Annual Das Awkscht Fescht
Running August 2-4 in Macungie, this is one of those auto events that should make every Pennsylvanian’s summer “To Do” list. As if the name itself weren’t cool enough, there will be over 2,500 cars in attendance, making this the largest antique and classic car show in the country. Roadkill Nights Powered by Dodge
Who doesn’t love Roadkill? Held for the fifth consecutive year in Pontiac, Michigan, Roadkill Nights bring legal drag racing and high-octane excitement to historic Woodward Avenue August 9-10. Take a pin-you-to-your-seat thrill ride in a Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat and Charger SRT Hellcat, test your skills in the Dodge Challenger SRT Demon simulators, and check out over 400 vehicles in the Show N’ Shine—among a variety of other family-friendly auto enthusiast activities. MPACT 2019 Motorsports Festival and Car Show Presented by ACM
Have you ever wanted to get out and enjoy a motorsports festival on Pocono Raceway? Are you also an import enthusiast? Well, then the MPACT Festival is for you. Running all day Saturday, August 10, this event is pure madness, as attendees will not only get to participate in a judged car show but they will also have the chance to take a driver education program, race on the track and even take a ride in a drift taxi. What more could you possibly want from a weekend getaway?
WRL 14 Hours of Sebring
Endurance racing is something everyone can learn from. It’s not just about going fast—but rather, being consistent, focused, and determined to give your absolute all for hours on end. This type of racing is the ultimate test of man and machine and is something that will continue to define the craft for ages to come. Fourteen hours of Sebring goes down this month, on August 17 at the Sebring International Raceway in Florida. Mecum Monterey Auctions
If you’ve had a bang-up summer full of heart-pounding shows and races, you might be looking to relax a little. That doesn’t mean you have to get away from the car scene completely, though. While most of us can’t afford the price tags of the timeless machines featured, it doesn’t mean we can’t admire and dream! Goodguys events will always sit at the top of must-see auto attractions. Bringing together the best cars, the best entertainment, and the best people in the biz, you’re guaranteed a good time. Well, let’s keep the legend at large. This August 16th kicks off the first Goodguys Grundy Insurance Great American Nationals in York, PA. Dirt Riot Endurance Racing Southwest Series
Just because the bulk of dirt racing comes to a close in July, doesn’t mean you can’t catch any intense dirt track action in August. In fact, the final race of the Dirt Riot Endurance Racing Southwest Series is going down in St. John’s, Arizona August 16-17. Enjoy the desert as it should be—with kickass, dirt-flinging machines. Jeep Week Baby! Ocean City Maryland is a hub for wonderful auto events and there’s really no secret as to why.
