NEW Bronco Accessories from Westin

The highly anticipated and much-delayed arrival of the redesigned Ford Bronco in 2021 had the automotive and (particularly) off-roading worlds waiting with baited breath for what was destined to be the next “big thing” in customized rides. Targeted at the King of the Hill Jeep Wrangler, the Bronco didn’t disappoint. It has given off-road enthusiasts something new and exciting to talk about. (As well as something to spend all their spare cash on).

It’s not just consumers continuing to go gaga for the Bronco, either. The aftermarket industry is going all-out to provide folks with a cornucopia of customizable accessories, equipment, and cutting-edge add-ons. The options for making your Bronco more functional, more rugged, and more off-road capable are almost unlimited. Better yet, excitement for the new belle of the ball doesn’t seem to be waning anytime soon.

California-based manufacturer Westin Automotive was quick to market with an impressive lineup in early 2022. For this year, the off-road-ready brand is back with 10 new products, designed to bring maximum durability and style.

Bumpers

Westin’s product catalog is practically bursting at the seams with capable upgrades, but bumpers stand out among the company’s offerings. Extremely durable and uniquely styled, Westin’s bumpers, grille guards, and related accessories set the industry standard for front- (and rear) end protection.

The brand offers a few varieties of bumpers to enhance the look and off-road capabilities of the Ford Bronco, but two new models join the lineup for 2023.

New XTS Series

With a high-strength but lightweight design, the XTS Winch Mount Front Bumper kicks up capability with style. Offering full-width coverage, it features a low-profile winch mount to improve air flow and a rugged steel construction to ensure wicked strength off-road.

The bumper features a lightweight 10-gauge steel shell combined with a solid 4-gauge steel winch tray capable of accommodating most recovery winches up to 12,000 pounds. Everything is coated in a durable textured black powder finish with an e-coated base coat, to ensure long lasting corrosion protection from the elements, and comes backed by a 3-year warranty.

For added confidence on the trail, Westin adds two welded recovery points for shackles and provides a wide variety of auxiliary lighting mounting points. The bumper also accommodates an optional skid plate, as well as optional angular or round bull bars. (All sold separately.) Installation stays pretty hassle-free, since the company includes all necessary hardware and makes sure this bumper is compatible with factory sensors.

If you want to bring that aggressive styling around back, the new XTS Rear Bumper gets the job done.

Constructed of 7-gauge plate steel with a matching electrostatic base coat and black powder-coated finish, this heavy-duty bumper features two off-road jack points and two recovery shackle mount points. A bolt-on spindle gives extra strength to the unit and optional carrier adjustment.

For an additional fee, you can add optional swing-out steel panels made from 1/4-inch wall square tubing that can accommodate a variety of accessories for added customization. Again, Westin provides everything necessary for a clean bolt-on installation, and backs it all with the company’s 3-year warranty.

Meet the Pros

If the XTS isn’t quite your style, check out the Pro-Mod Front Bumper. A bit of a staple in Westin’s lineup, the design became available for the Bronco last year. It sits high and tight on the vehicle, great for improved approach angles. Sleek-looking and functional, it sports a center 20” cutout compatible with most LED light bars, space for optional round/square Outlaw LED kits, and mesh panels for optimal air flow to the intercooler and radiator. Heads up though, it’s not compatible with factory adaptive cruise control.

Carry that sleek, aggressive, and lightweight styling around back with the Pro-Series Rear Bumper. It features a modern, slim, one-piece design that increases ground clearance and approach angle; and a black-powder coated 10-gauge steel construction that’s built to last. Compatible with OEM parking sensors and hitches, it can accommodate two FM6 LED flush-mounted backup lights.

Bumper Accessories

If your vehicle tends to see a little more action and, therefore, your bumper needs to do more than simply absorb a bump, Westin offers some quality add-ons.

The XTS Brush Guard is a new product for 2023. Designed to accompany the XTS Front Bumper, it also fits OEM equipment. Both versions are built from 2-inch diameter steel tubing with 10-gauge uprights for maximum strength and durability. They include optional light mounting center bars and easy bolt-on installation. You also get all necessary mounting hardware and the XTS 3-year limited warranty for added peace of mind.

If you’re determined to keep the OEM bumper, but want to add in winch functionality, Westin adds two new options for you in 2023. First up is the Superwinch Winch Tray, which is a very straightforward bolt-on upgrade that mounts directly to the vehicle frame and works with factory sensors. It has been tested to a maximum straight-line pull of 16,500 pounds, and fits most medium-frame 8,000-12,000-pound winches (up to 10.25” tall). The tray is predrilled for quick and easy mounting of a hawse or roller fairlead.

While the winch tray only works with OEM steel modular bumpers, Westin’s new Hidden Winch Mount accommodates both steel and plastic options. (It also works with Westin’s own line of Pro-Mod bumpers.) Tucked under the bumper, this subtle design also uses a simple bolt-on installation and offers pre-drilled holes for quick mounting of hawse or roller fairleads. Just like the winch tray listed above, it’s constructed from black texture-coated steel and mounts directly to your frame. It’s tested to a maximum straight-line pull of 16,500 pounds and can fit most medium 8,000-12,000-pound winches.

Step Systems & Sliders

Nerf steps and running boards ensure you get a leg up in style, by making it easier to enter and exit your vehicle, while also providing a little extra protection for the rocker panels. Westin offers a wide selection of step systems, many of which are now available for the Bronco.

Whether you’re looking for something with simple and clean lines or a super aggressive tread, tubular bars with drop-down steps or a single, uninterrupted running board, Westin has a design for you. They even offer a style with lighted end caps to not only provide safer vehicle access in low lighting conditions, but also make a statement.

For 2023 though, Westin went rugged and released new XTS Rock Sliders. The custom profile looks stellar running along the Ford Bronco, and design excels at merging vehicle protection with step functionality and style:

  • The construction stands up to rocks and other trail hazards, thanks to the 12-gauge steel channel combined with a 1-3/4″ diameter .120″ thick wall round tube.
  • For easy entrance and exit, the wide bolt-on step plate ensures sure footing with a polyurea texture-coated grip surface.
  • The entire slider sits high and tight to the cab, creating a clean line, and everything wears a sleek powder-coated finish for added ruggedness and longevity.

Speaking of improved styling, Westin also plans to release new XTS Pinch Weld Covers for 2023. CNC-cut from 16-gauge steel and featuring a durable textured-black finish, these covers add a nice finished look to the ugly factory pinch seam along the bottom of the cab. Available for 2- and 4-door Broncos, the covers utilize a bolt-on installation with no-drilling required.

Lighting

Like its step products, Westin offers a plethora of lighting accessories that can be mounted on the roof or bumper to provide extra lighting for off-roading. Check out the full array HERE, but keep an eye open for the upcoming new XTS Overhead Light Mount, slated for release later this year.

Constructed using heavy-gauge steel and 1.5-inch tubing, this sleek mount features multiple slots to accommodate roof-mounted LED lights in a variety of configurations. Of course, it rocks the sleek textured black powder-coating that is so popular with most Bronco accessories and adds durability and corrosion-resistance. One drawback is that this light bar isn’t compatible with the Ford Bronco Sport Model. However, it is designed to work with factory mounting locations for other models.

Cargo Management

A very cool addition to Westin’s 2023 lineup is the new overlanding-ready Mesa Roof Rack. Lightweight but strong, this rugged topside accessory is constructed with tough extruded aluminum crossbars and tubes and features a clever elevated design that lets you easily remove the front and rear roof panels of your Bronco without needing to uninstall the rack itself. Installation is easy, since it mounts to all factory locations, and the design sports a stylish recessed pocket at the front for lighting upgrades. You also get a removable wind deflector panel that can accommodate your light mount channel.
