Pypes Exhaust SEMA 2019: Sick Builds, New Product, Signature Performance
Pypes Performance Exhaust serves people who like all-American power. Simple as that. There’s no fuss with daily drivers, no bending over backwards to meet the demands of the foreign market, and no time wasted with cheap materials.
But don’t make the mistake of assuming this means they’re limiting themselves in any way. Quite the opposite, really. Pypes offers great fit, great sound, and great value for a wide range of applications—from street to strip and everything in between.
Pypes Exhaust SEMA Builds
The company’s already-impressive product lineup continues to expand, recently adding exhaust systems for the new Jeep Wrangler JL, RAM 1500, Ford F-150, and Dodge Challenger models—which we’ll get to. But first, we want to take a minute to recognize the awesome builds Pypes featured in its SEMA 2019 booth, as they really flex what this brand is all about.
NASCharger
You might already recognize this beast, as it’s been receiving plenty of well-deserved buzz.

Built by Sam Hard of southern England’s Hard Up Garage, this project vehicle began its life as a movie car from the Fast and Furious franchise. (You’ll remember it as Dom Toretto’s Charger in FF1.)
After the film wrapped, this poor ride was literally working as part of a traveling roadshow that (poorly) recreated scenes from the movie. “Unfortunately, this beast of an automobile, a proper 1970 Dodge Charger had its heart and soul cruelly removed by the arena show organizers,” explains Pypes. “They turned this magnificent car into what can best be described as an electric ‘clown car’ that did wheelies on command and reached the dizzy heights of 12 mph!”
So, what’s a gearhead to do? Acquire a Carl Edwards 2012 NASCAR, lengthen the chassis seven inches, and marry it to that sweet Charger, of course. (You can watch the wild ride of this build—from its beginning in February 2019 up to its SEMA appearance at the link below!)
Pypes helped sponsor the build—and make it street legal by turning down the volume on its barking side exhaust. Hard drove the NASCharger 1,400 miles from Nebraska to Vegas in the Radical Drive-Off competition, arriving in time for SEMA with no hiccups and a whopping £1000 for charity.
Tinmama
Another slick build wearing Pypes Exhaust product at SEMA 2019 was a 1940 Chevy two-door sedan built by Luke Merrill of Tinman 2 Kustoms in Isanti, MN. An on-again-off-again project for Merrill’s mom (hence the name), the car features some trick fabrication, sitting on a Nova subframe and wearing a 2017 Mustang’s IRS.

Powered by a fuel-injected 400 cubic-inch small block, this Pypes-equipped beauty finished Top 12 Build Overall and Top 3 Young Gun in the SEMA 2019 Battle of The Builders competition.
These custom builds are not only eye candy, they’re also great inspiration. And believe us when we say that they barely scratch the surface of Pypes’ versatility.
New Pypes Product
Sadly, most of us poor shmucks don’t have the time, money, or mental bandwidth to tackle a build like the ones above—we’re just looking for a really good exhaust system for our factory/slightly-modded applications. Luckily, Pypes has us covered with an ever-growing application list of complete systems and quality exhaust components for a variety of makes and models.
As we mentioned, Pypes’ inventory recently received some updates.
2015-2019 Challenger SRT and Scat Pack owners looking for a bump in performance and an aggressive muscle car tone have the option of a new Pypes cat-back system. Featuring a 3-inch 409 Stainless Steel construction, the new system is available in an X-Pipe or H-Pipe configuration with Violator or Race Pro mufflers.
But Pypes isn’t a brand that just has offerings for 2WD asphalt crushers. Now available are great-flowing exhaust systems for 2019-2020 RAM 1500 and 2015-2020 Ford F-150 models.
Pypes Exhaust Cat-back Pype Bomb kit for the RAM 1500 features 16-gauge 409 Stainless Steel Tubing and promises improved power gains, better fuel efficiency, and a throaty sound with minimal drone. Similarly, the Pypes F-150 Side Exit Cat-back Race Pro Exhaust uses 3-inch 16-gauge stainless steel mandrel bent tubing, finished with a 4.5-inch polished dual exit tip, offering a smooth, mellow exhaust note that gives your truck a nice deep rumble when accelerating.
Whether your 2018-2020 JL Wrangler crawls rocks or mall parking lots, consider beefing up the factory muffler assembly with a mandrel bent, 409 Stainless Steel Pypes replacement. Better flow means improved horsepower and torque and tossing that stock equipment provides you with increased ground clearance.
Did You Know?
If you’ve got a hauler, you know the joy off having the same brand on your truck as you do your car, but did you know Pypes has a whole line dedicated to servicing diesel and big rig trucks?
Whether its for work or play, Pypes Big Rig products bring the same high value and high quality as their traditional small fry counterparts with a full line of stacks, tips, and systems for diesel or gas-powered trucks in light or heavy-duty applications.
